Information Dynamics begins building NASA's Segment Architecture

Information Dynamics begins building NASA's Segment Architecture for it's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate.
Category: General
In 2008 Information Dynamics developed an initial segment architecture project to test various approaches and methodologies for NASA's Exploration Systems Mission Directorate (ESMD). This proof of concept involved development of a descriptive narrative, supported by detailed connectivity models illustrating important architectural  elements of the Ares I and Orion Programs within the Constellation Systems Division. The project was a success.

ESMD awarded Information Dynamics a follow-on contract to expand the Segment Architecture to include all eighteen Programs within the Directorate. When complete, the ESMD Segment Architecture will describe the Directorate's Current State, provide a tangible vision of its Target State, and form the basis of a plan for the Transition between the two. The resulting Segment will document ESMD's external influences, business processes, strategic capabilities, performance goals, and transition strategies across its programs and projects, and the Services provisioned by the Centers which support them. It will also document the increasingly complex relationships ESMD has with its other NASA organizations.
